Check out a fun science experiment we carried out in 4th Class, as part of Science Week. Using just a few materials and with the help of our resident science boffin Ms Roycroft, we created mysterious floating styrofoam balls! It was such a cool experiment that even our teacher couldn't resist getting in on the action!
We are very proud of our student below who earned himself 150 points or more on the online Maths Programme of Mangahigh for Maths Week Ireland 2018. He was presented with a gleaming medal for his hard work! Well done.
Check our our Spooky Halloween Lanterns which we created using old jam jars and paint, and our 'Q-Tip Skeltons'. Can you spot the dabbing skelton? Have you ever seen such flexible skeltons?!
Today (Wednesday October 10th) we were visited by 'BrickX Club' - a creative lego-building club. Our hall was filled with thousanads and thousands of pieces of Lego including 'laq' - a new type of lego that is currently only available in Japan. As you will see from the photos, there were some fantastic creations built Excellent team-work and sharing of skills were shown. Well done to all and thanks to the leader Kathy Lambkin and also Miss Deasy for organising Kathy's visit.
Last week, we practised and prepared Irish dramas, on the theme of 'The Restaurant'. Between a case of food poisoning and snails served still alive, it's safe to say there was plenty of drama! The new school year is well up and running now, and Rang 4 have been busy not just in the classroom. With Dancing Derek, we've going over some old moves as well as adding some new ones! Anthony has also been putting us through our paces with our GAA training. Check it out... On Friday October 5th, after lots of research and rehearsals both at home and in school, the children of Rang a 4 presented their oral reports - on a topic of their choosing. The reports were informative, interesting and presented in a clear and sometimes entertaining manner! So much so, that the teacher has resolved to 1) Read the Harry Potter series of books and 2) Start playing Minecraft. Well done to everyone.
Welcome to the page of Miss McCarthy's 4th Class. Here, we will regularly keep you up to date with the activities and events we are involved in. Thank you for visiting our page - we hope you enjoy getting a glimpse into life in 4th Class in Scoil Naomh Eltin. Pencil-Shaving Art. Check out our Pencil Shaving Art. We began by making a collection of pencil shavings - which meant some very sharp pencils! We then created simple pencil sketches and used the pencil shavings to add colour, pattern and shape! The results are very interesting. Can you spot a cheerleader with some interesting pom-poms? Or perhaps a tasty-looking pineapple? Cooking With Granny.
